Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is more important for governments to spend money to support art museums and music performances than to support recreational such as playgrounds and public swimming pools.
Nowadays, our society has witnessed an unprecedented accumulation of material affluence and a sizzling economy. How to improve people's living standards is still a hotly-discussed concern. Some people advocate that government should distribute more money to support art museums and music performances, while others hold the reverse viewpoint that more money is supposed to be allocated to the development of recreational facilities. Personally speaking, I believe it is too rash to label any option as superior, and both are equally momentous.
On the one hand, recreational facilities such as playgrounds and swimming pools enable the masses to build their body and unwind themselves. It is undeniable that health comes top of the list. Living in a high-speeding society, people rarely have time and chances to stretch out their arms and legs. Sitting in front of the computers all day and night exerts some detrimental effects on their physical health, causing eye strains and leading to chronic illnesses at even a young age. Even worse, it still is enormously difficult for some workers and students to readily find a place to relax in many cities and regions. If the government invests money to erect more recreational facilities, people are granted the chance to possess a robust body through workouts. For example, my father works in a bank and is always enslaved by the exhaustion caused by daily work. When walking in the new park established by the local government, he can refresh himself. Moderate exercise help accelerate his blood circulation, making him live a healthier life.
On the other hand, art museums and musical performances are also of vital importance to enrich the public cultural life. Manifold exhibitions in museums prompt residents to improve their aesthetical taste. When immersed in the art world, people can easily enjoy various masterpieces and have a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of diversified cultures. Moreover, those facilities even offer some wonderful opportunities for teachers to educate their students. These art activities facilitate outdoor education, motivating students to turn what they have learned in class into practice. For example, when I was in primary school, the only way we learned about paintings and music was by reading dull learning materials and textbooks. After visiting the new museums and theaters built by our government, we could effortlessly comprehend the essence and spirit delivered by the artists on the ground that the knowledge we assimilated can be demonstrated in a more vivid way, which paves a way for our further development. We became indulged in these subjects and even created our innovative artworks with ease.
In a nutshell, either of the options should be valued and cherished equally. Since our society is developing and the quality of life is still treasured by most people, the government need to spare no efforts to satisfy the different requirement of the citizens and help people have overall development in terms of different aspects.
