The author provide 3 benefits of electronic medical record system. The lecturer do not accept these advantajous. She is of the opinion that none of these benefits is certain.
First of all, the author suggest that utilizing electronic records decrease the cost of storage space for paper records. This statement is challenged by the lecturer. She states that doctors even who use electronic system use use paper records as an emercency back up and for having documents for ligal reasons, hence, by using electronic system the cost of storage space still remains.
Secondly, the writer contends that medical errors will be declined if doctors use electronic system instead of paper records. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by asserting that doctors usually take note by hands and then office staff enter the nots in electronic sysyems. So there are still some causes that can create errors.
Finally, it states in the article that medical records on electronic system can help researchs in this field to have a good database, in order to draw out the required information about patient and to access the information from different location. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that by mentioning that to gather the patient information doctors sholud gain permission from their patients and also
