Ecocertified wood for American people

Essay topics:

Ecocertified wood for American people

In the lecture, the professor makes several points that argue against those presented in the passage about the advantages of a wood eco-certified for American companies.

Firstly, it said that it's a wrong affirmation that consumers don't value an eco-certification label, they know the difference between a claim the companies do for their products and a claim by independent certification agencies, besides the Americans value more agencies with an international reputation.

Then, the passage affirms that the wood with eco-certification will be more expensive than woods without them, the professor says that it’s correct but the difference will be minimal, just 5%. Besides, the consumers, are increasingly convinced of the value of taking care of the environment.

Finally, the passage argues that American companies sell their products mostly in the U.S. and Americans are satisfied with their merchandise, but the lecture differs at this point because American consumers are beginning to appreciate an eco-certified product and will turn to foreign companies if they cannot get it locally.
