elephant
The reading and lecture are both about the elephant and how much this kind of animals are captivated by human because of their special creature, and they have three particular abilities. The passage presents three explanations to posit why humans involve with misunderstanding, however, professor accept that elephants are a fascinating animals.
To begin with, the author of the reading claims that elephants be aware about the time of their death, due to the fact that when they are old and weak went to near lake until die and scientist named the location Grave-yard. In addition, scientist found fossils of bone remain. Nevertheless, the professor opposes this claim by mentioning that elephant do not know about the accurate time of their life, they merely go adjacent to lake because of their teeth and jaws and finally die there. When elephant get older, they do not feed on previous vegetation, so they go near lake. We all know that the vegetation near water are softer than others.
Secondly, the article posits that elephants have a specific artistic talent, and they can maintain brush by their truck to paint flower and so on. However, the professor maintain an opposite opinion that it is not about their talent because trainer teach elephants to paint certain pattern. Moreover, elephants have sensitive ear, and human by utilizing their ear train them what to draw. For example, by repeating some sound when elephants draw in a right way, they teach them how to paint a picture.
Third, the reading mention that elephants are afraid of mice. they do not feel fear when meet lions or other wild animals, but they afraid mice. The professor, on the other hand cast doubt on this claim by stating that the reaction of elephants leads to misunderstanding of scientist. Elephants are not afraid of mice because of the mice, they are afraid because mice are unfamiliar to them. For instance, in the zoo, elephants do not feel fear, since they realize mice.
