ice age
The reading and lecture are both about how little ice age occurs from 1300 until 1990. The passage presents three explanations to posit how to disrupt ocean current and occur volcano and decrease the population of humans and increase forests, which are the reason for the ice age. The professor, however, refutes all of those explanations by stating that these reasons are out of date.
To begin with, the author of reading claims that before the time that ice age happened, the planet experience warmer climate period caused to melt a glacier and made disrupt ocean currents. Nevertheless, the professor opposes this claim by mentioning that merely in North America and Europe, the scientist observed the disrupted in the ocean. However, interrupted must occur in all ocean, including Swaziland and so on to happen to occur ice age.
Secondly, the article posits that volcanic eruption cause to make dust and removes sunlight. The professor maintains an opposite opinion that a large amount of dust could lead to occur in this phenomenon; however, there is no evidence or story about the absence of sun in the sky. People who lived in those eras got used to writing about events, for example, colorful sunset and reported about the phenomenon.
Thirdly, the reading mentions that decreasing in the population and boost of growing plants cause to remove co2, therefor, ice age happens. The professor, on the other hand, casts doubt on this claim by stating that the period of decreasing in population is not sufficient time to cause having a colder climate. Due to the fact that growing crops and enhancing forests took a long time.
