The increment in human population caused reduction in birds population
The article claims that the increment in human population and also agriculture lands has affected the wildlife and decreased the number of animals and especially birds, The passage has supported its idea by three reasons. However, the professor in the lecture believes that these reasons are unconvincing.
First, the passage declares that the increment of human population has decreased the birds natural habitats. As a result, birds population which highly depends on their habitats, has been decayed. However, the professors claims that this has not lead to a uniform decrease in the birds population. She believes that the cities provided better places for a lot of birds such as pigeons and their number in the cities even have been increased.
Second, the article states that the lands which are being used for agriculture lead to decrements of bird's habitats and their population. However, the lecturer claims that nowadays in the united states less and less lands are being used. She states that new crops are being planted in the farms that produces more and more foods and are more efficient than the traditional farming.
Third, the article claims that the use of pesticides for agriculture poisons the water and insects which are being used by birds as food and this kills these birds. Nevertheless, the professor claims that in the modern agriculture, they are using new less intoxicating pesticides that do not harm the birds. She also states that the scientists are developing pest resistant crops which do not harm the wildlife at all.
