The passage and the lecture is about what is the best way to approach new projects. The author of the article states that new projects should be done in groups. While the lecture casts doubts on the claims made in the article. He claims that handing new projects to the group is not a good decision for various reasons.

First of all, the author claims that a group of people have a higher range of knowledge and expertise using which they can bring very creative solutions and take risky decisions. The author believes so because the responsibility spreads across the group instead of only one individual. The lecturer casts doubts on this claim. He claims that many individuals get a free ride as in a group only a few people do the work and the credit is shared by all. The few earnest workers never receive their deserved credit. Also, if due to the decision of few, some error happens, it will be blamed on all the members of the group.

Secondly, the author states that an individual has better chances to shine and get his voice heard in the group than individually. This point is challenged in the lecture. He says that there are instances of two or more people becoming domineering over others. And all decisions need to have their approvals. Furthermore, when a individual brings a new idea, these influential individuals will banish it if some loopholes are found without a second look.

In addition, the article also states that in a group, solutions will be provided quickly due to more number of people. But this is rebutted by the lecture by stating that it was observed more time was being taken to reach consensus in a group.

In conclusion, the lecture effectively disagrees to the claims stated in the article.
