professor s in the TV program

Essay topics:

professor's in the TV program

The reading and the lecturer are both about whether Professors will attend in a television program or not. The author of the reading feels that there are three possible reasons for participating in the TV program. The lecturer challenges the claims made by the author. He is of the opinion that these* reasons which the author explained aren't convincing.

To begin with, the author argues that joining a television program is beneficial for Professors. The article mentions that not only academic scholars but also people all around the world can see the Professor which will enhance his academic importance. This specific argument this *challenges by the author. He notes that Professor himself won't be benefited *from attending TV programs because it will make himself less serious researcher rather entertainer. Additionally, the author says, from this belief he won't be invited to many academic conferences which will hamper his research work by decreasing the fund.

Secondly, the writer suggests that educational institute will also be benefited from this. In the article, it is said that people after watching TV can be familiar with the professor as well as will get some insights about the university. The Lecturer, however, disputes this by acknowledging that Professors have to waste a lot of time to attend such TV shows like time for travel, makeup, or other preparations. He elaborates on this by bringing up the point that this time could be used in research or teaching that may help both students and institute.

Finally, the author posits that viewers also get some insight from *these shows. Moreover, in the article it is mentioned that this program generally not so enigmatic which helps common people to get scientific or any academic idea. In contrast, lecturer position is that public doesn't actually get any actual idea. He notes that TV producers of this kind of program are generally focused on current or non academic topic which hampers to get proper academic comprehension.
