read a passage about an academic topic for 3 minutes, and then you will
hear a short lecture related to the topic. Then summarize the
points in the lecture and explain how they relate to specific points in the reading
passage

Both, the reading and the lecture discuss the reason for the birds’ deaths disaster. The reading states that the illegal fireworks caused damage for the birds by killing them and make them lose their habitats.
However, the lecture refutes the belief presented in the reading by sating that the fireworks using just to flush the birds not for killing them.
To begin with, the passage claims that there is a connection between the two events. This is because the time of each event is the same at 10 pm when the people heard high loud noises (the illegal fireworks), then they looked out their houses and watched the blackbirds hitting the cars, windows and shrubs also fall on everywhere.
Nevertheless, the lecture contrasts this idea by pointing out that there is a long distance between the place where the birds died and the city where the fireworks went off. Furthermore, there were numerous birds threw a long area which means the noises impacted on a part of them not all of them.
Secondly, the reading mentions that the birds were died by physical trauma, that’s what the scientists said after tested their bodies. As the result found, the birds had a trauma to the chest, hemorrhaging in the body cavity, bruised skulls, and blood clots.
Yet, the lecture challenges this argument by revealing that the birds' deaths and their bodies hurt may have been caused by the huge winds; according to what the people who watched the birds crushed by the wind and died said. Yet, the hurricanes in Arkansas killed seven people in the same place, also the storm might have made the birds lose their sense of direction or one of them led the group to fall fatally.
Lastly, the reading argues that the blackbirds were scared and left their roost, because of the fireworks. Since they unusually fly at night, and their poor eyesight with the confusion caused the crash; because they had to fly away from the noises, so that made them nearly to the roofs and buildings.
On the other hand, the lecture rebuts this theory by explaining that the birds’ poor vision increases the possibility to die at the beginning of their life. She asserts that the birds also fly at night, because there is no enough time in winter’s day. So they were gathered to move as every winter season, but unfortunately, during their flying, they died as many accepted because of their poor eyesight.
Thus, there is a stark difference between the reading and the lecture.
