Satisfying jobs for the workers
In an overview, in this lecture and reading discussed arguments about job satisfaction and the motivation of workers. Also lecture states companies organized around concept of small work group generally have high levels of worker satisfaction. Admittedly, the points in the lecture asserts on the points in the reading.
First of all, the lecture explains small group fills important social and emotional needs of workers. Also, it led to more motivation and productivity of workers and companies. This supports the content in the reading that workers are more motivated if their jobs offers the sense of community.
Furthermore, the work group improves worker motivation because it promotes an atmosphere of security. When, workers are member of team, they know their performance matters to the success of a group. The supports the clues in the reading that emphasis which workers need sense a security in the workplace.
Finally, the lecture explain that the small group gives individuals a sense of autonomy. Workers need to control what happens during the workday. Although, this subject mentions to point in the reading that most satisfying jobs are those with high level of autonomy.
