space exploration
The lecture and the passage both are about the private space exploration. The author of the passage claims that it will benefit scientific discoveries and humans. The lecturer challenges the several claim made by the author. He is of the point that it won't benefit humans.
Firstly, the author says that privatization will make the space flight cheaper due to competition which will benefit both the space tourist and scientist for their discoveries. The lecturer rebuts this statement by saying that instead of being cheaper it will be more dear.Making space traffic control systems and verifying the safety measures will fuel up the cost instead of bringing it down.
Secondly, the writer of the passage says that privatization will increase the scientific discoveries and will make the industry grow giving more employement to scientist. The lecturer argues with the statement by saying that many private companies will lure the scientist by giving more money. As a result of this they will mosllty concentrate on their private research instead of goverment research work.
Finally, the author posists that the expense of space travel will be borne by their customers which will reduce the burden on tax payers. The lecturer contests this statement by saying that it takes billions of dollars to make space station airport and this money cannot be raised from customers so instead of lowering the burden on tax payers it will increase their burden.
