summarize the points made in the lecture about Edmontosaurs migration, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on specific points made in the passage about possible reasons for Edmontosaurs migration.
The reading discusses Edmontosaurs a North Slope species of dinosaurs migration possibility and gives reasons to illustrate it. However, The professor in the lecture opposes this belief and refutes this idea by giving three reasons to support her position about their migration.
First, the article mentions the diet of these animals which was based on plants and it considers that due to plants' abundance decrease in winter they should have migrated in this season. But, professor indicates that the climate in that period was better than what is now in North Slope area. She reminds that in that time the weather was warmer so plants can easily grow in summer time which would be death in winter season and animals like Edmontosaurs can eat them to stay alive in cold winter periods.
Second, the passage talks about the skeletons and fossil remaining, found in the region where they were all generally discovered in an accumulated spot. In contrast, she believes that finding animals fossils in one specific place does not imply that they migrated completely to that area. She suggests that there are some other probable explainations for this incident. For example, they may live near each other in herds for protection reasons from outside predators that can significantly harm them. Also, she mentions the example of Elks, a group of animals who lived all in a herd but never migrated some place else.
Third, the reading discusses the physical ability of these animals which can assisted them to migrate to far places easier. On the other hand, professor does not accept this idea, since she thinks that there were some young generation lived in their herd too. So, they have not the ability needed for a long distance migration. In addition, these young animals cannot survive on their own so they should live near other mature adults for their safety.
