The lecture and the reading both discuss whether or not globalization is the benefit to the world. While the reading states that the globalization significantly useful to the society in various ways with the commercial connection to the regions of the world. the lecture refutes this, saying that it is the hard topic and it is not necessarily a good thing.
First of all, the reading climes globalization enable the low cost of living because the labor in the developing country are less pricey as a result the products are cheaper. However, the lecture argues that there is no job stability in developed countries. He illustrated that, when the USA trade with Mexico, the television manufacturer company shifted their business to Mexico because of inexpensive workers, eventually no jobs for Americans.
In addition to that, the reading makes the argument that the globalization release high-quality products with less expensive because of the competition. The lecture counter this point by stating it is the danger to rely on other countries. He explained with 2008 recession as an example. He mentioned that the American 2008 financial crush not only impact on the US market, it also spoil other countries like Germany.
Lastly, the reading passage argues that mutual relationship between countries put pressure on the government to maintain environmental safety. The lecture cast doubt on this point by saying it is the doubt that globalization improves environmental safety. He mentioned that it increases the air pollution rather safety.
