TOEFL T P O 40 - Integrated Writing Task

The reading claims that although it would be possible to keep a human on Mars and the Moon, it would be impossible on Venus for a various reason. However, the professor believes that the reading's reasons are unconvincing and refuse them.

Firstly, the reading argues that due to atmospheric pressure at Venus' surface, a force of 100 Kilogram is pressing down on this surface which means that all space crafts would be crushed. Controversy, the professor reckons that if space crafts would be followed on the atmosphere of Venus such as a balloon, it could not be damaged by atmospheric pressure. Since 50 KM above the surface, the condition is similar to earth.

Secondly, the reading describes that there are not essential elements such as water on the surface of this planet, while in this place there are plenty of toxin gases. In contrast, the professor argues that the atmosphere of Venus is made up of CO2 and sulfur which can produce water based on these elements by the chemical process.

Finally, although the reading describes that this plant receives a little sunlight, the professor claims that not only the clouds are not very thick, but also by equipping the spacecraft by solar power electricity can be produced. When the sunlight is reflected by clouds, it can be absorbed by spacecraft.
