The reading and the lecture both discuss the aspect of assigning a project to a team of people and the effects of it. the reading supports this aspect by giving three benefits could be attained of it, however, the lecture refutes every single one of them.
First, the reading says that this will be of a great benefit to the project. working in a group means many people with knowledge, expertise and skilles will work better than asingle individual will do.
The professor challenged that by discussing that this is going to be like a free ride for some people in thegroup. they will invertually will get recognition when the job is being well done. But the real contriputer will not be satisfied if they have been asked about the recognition to the group, because thier own efforts will not be addressed and this will create the negative attude.
second, the reading says that the group can work more quickly and respond to the risky situations by making creative solutions unlike one individual could tackle. The professor, on the other hand, refutes this, saying that this will be a time cosuming to reach to conssitency. he support his claime by saying that the presence of two or many influencer in the group will afect the disicion making. As a result if the influencers said that this idea will never work, the idea will be drops by the group even if there were supporters for it, they would be, eventually, ignored.
lastly the reading takes about how rewarding is the success of the project to all group members. again the influencer of the team will best benefir the other members upon the success of the project, The lecture, again, aregue aginst this, by mentioning that if the project fails, the blame will be on all the group, and those who are the influencer of the team will not be recognised for the failure or even for the success of the project.
a group wil consume more time to make a descision in the risky situations.
