The article states that having a team og people work on a project offers several advantages and provides three reasons of support. Conversely, the professor states that based on study for certain company that examine the performance of a team work on a project for 6 months, there is no contribution by having a group of people work on a project. And he refutes eaches of the author’s reasons.
First, the reading claims that a group of people has a wider range of knowledge, expertise, and skills than any individual is likely to possess. The professor refutes this point by saying that wotking in a team would not recognize the real contributor to a project. When a project success, the whole team would be recognize and not by member names. Even though they were not being a part of the project sucess.
Second, the article avers that a group can work more quickly to the task assgnied and can come up with highly creative solutions to problems. Also, working in a group can ve very rewarding for members of the team. However, the professor opposes this point by stating that a group would not work quickly as the author suggested. But, a group of people would take so long time, several meeting to reach a consensus regarding agreement to do a task. Meantime, the professor adds that a one person or 2 could be very influential among the group. Or when a group is being influenced by some members, they igorned any warning from other members that seems reasonable. And consequently, when those people diagree upon a work to do, this work dropped immediately. On the other hand, when a project fails, the whole group would be blamed and not a certain individual.
