The article states that in an organization, the best way to approach a new project is to assemble a group of people into a team and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that this plan to gather people and work as a team will not work so much and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that if company uses a group of people, it will be a wider range of knowledge, expertise, skills and greater resources. But, the professor refutes this point by saying that some people of this group get free ride and take the advantage. He states that after the project is successful in spite of those free riders, if some well-known members of those group are asked about the process of the project, their attitude will be opposite what the article states.
Second, the article posits that taking part in a group process; the project will work and finish quickly. However, the professor says that lot of people means, it needs a lot of time. According to him to take a suitable decision, it needs a lot of meetings, agreements etc. so, it is a long process to achieve a successful project.
Third, the reading says that the individual team member has a better chance to 'shine' and they can contribute their ideas. But the professor opposes this point by explaining that if we follow this kind of process, it will not help the project for better development. We also learn that one or two people will influence in this project, so, if the other members will like to support the project, these one or two men can drop the project and go for further discussion. Even, if other group members will like to deny this project, those one or two men will force them to accept this project, so, at the end, when the project fail, the company will blame the whole members of this project groups. Thus, the professor disagree this article based on those bold reasons.
