Both lecturer and reading passage discuss hydrogen based fuel cell engine. According to the article, hydrogen based fuel engine get the many benefits than internal combustion engine such as renewable energy, less pollute to the environment and economically cheaper. However, the lecturer states that it is true that petroleum and oil is finite source and harm to the environment but hydrogen based fuel cell is not solution of the problems.
To begin with, the lecturer oppose the first point made by reading passage that abundance sources available for produce hydrogen. He claims that hydrogen cannot obtain directly by present of water. In fact, the engine need pure liquid state of hydrogen and it is made only by artificial substance not natural elements. Besides, the storage of Liquid state hydrogen require high laboratory cooling technology because its need to keep at minus 250 degree celcius. Therefore, difficult to production and storage of the hydrogen.
Furthermore, the lecturer also refute the second advantage made by article that hydrogen based fuel cells solve the pollution problem because of hydrogen made by pure water and its not pollute the environment. He mentions that pollution decrease by use hydrogen based cell in car but pollution increase by factory which are production of the hydrogen because of pollution of burning gas and oil for production of hydrogen is harm to the environment.
Moreover, the reading passage emphasizes that fuel engine cell is more efficient. The lecture, in contrast, says that manufacturing fuel cell component need the plantenium for power supply. Platinium is more costlier element.
