TPO 15-1

The strategies which is mentioned by the reading to be disposed of cane toads- a kind of bulky amphibian which has been intentionally introduced to Australia and caused many dramatic obstacles in its ecosystem- seems to be unlikely to be exploited due to several conspicuous reasons.

First of all, although the reading proposes the construction of fence as a method, The professor believes that it won't be beneficial feasibly due to the fact that many young toads as well as the eggs inhabit in rivers and streams. As a result, water can carry many of them over the fences because they should cross over the fences to initiate a living.

Secondary, Although the professor admits that it is possible to ask people to gather cane toads and make them disappear, It will be a risky decision because many people can't distinguish the differences between frogs and cane toad because they resemble each other very much apparently. Consequently, this will lead to a decrease in number of frog species.

last but not least, As many of the introduced cane toads are transported to Central America, the idea of injecting viruses to them in order to get rid of them sounds to be wrong. As a matter of fact, native cane toads are vital parts of the ecosystem in the America and their being infected to these kinds of viruses will lead to a catastrophic result.
