The passage and the lecture both discuss let it burn policy in the Yellowstone park. The reading claims that this kind of fire has negative effect on park. In contrast, the professor says that forest fire has positive effect.
First of all, the text indicate that Yellowstone's fires affected on park's trees and other plants, because fire killed a lot of plants. The professors refutes this and says that after fire the nature of the park will be more diversity. Moreover, new kind of plants will appear.
Secondly, the text puts out that fire damaged wildlife of the park. Furthermore, a fire destructed their habitats. The professor refutes this and says that will create new habitats after fire. Besides, the population of animals will be diversity after Yellowstone's fire.
Last but not least, the reading passage points that after a fire the value of the park decrease; that is why Yellowstone park does not attract a lot of tourists. Hence, it has a negative influence on local economy, because businesses depend of count of visitors. But the professor says that fire is not annual action. It should not be a problem for tourism industry.
