It is feasible to create genetic modified trees that produce more fruits, grow faster and many more benefits. Paragraph states the advantages of genetically modified trees over the natural trees. Where as lecture casts doubt on the explanation provided in the paragraph.
Firstly, paragraph shows that artificial trees are more likely to survive because they are pest resistant like prevent ring spot virus in papaya trees. Casting doubt on the opinion, lecture states that genetically modified trees are resistant to one particular condition which depicts that that they grow uniformly and if condition alters all trees will die. Where as natural trees survive in a threatening condition and some individual trees can survive. There is no chance of complete clearance in case of natural trees.
Secondly, paragraph states that genetically modified trees boost the economic condition of the person who grows them because of capability to grow faster, produce more fruits. While lecture states that natural trees can grow easily from the seeds which can be obtained from the developed trees. In case of genetically modified trees, farmers need to pay every time for the new offspring.
Thirdly, reading displays that artificial trees prevent over exploitation of the wild trees as they can grow faster which leads to meet the demand of the wood and indirectly saving endangered trees. Where as lecture states that artificial trees grow aggressively and consumes sunlight, nutrients from the soil and water which leads to cutting of the natural resources.
