TPO 24

The lecture and the reading discuss actual animal tissues that remain from Tyrannosaurus rex about 70-million-years-old. Although the passage claims that some soft tissue such as blood vessels, red blood cells and collagen found on the legs bond of fossils, the speaker refutes this idea through several reasons which I will describe in this reporter.

First and foremost, the passage points out that finding many small branching channels in the leg bone that show blood vessels. The lecturer, in contrast, rejects this by claiming that these soft flexible bone channels are not blood vessels. They would remain from other animals and bacteria. After animals died, some bacteria started to live in bones, and they made colonize hollows in bone; so, these branching channels only some trace that remains from colonizing of bacteria.

Furthermore, unlike the passage which states that some spheres particle would remain of red blood cells, the professor argues that these reddish spheres have been found in the fossils of the animal which we know that did not have any red blood cells. So, they do not necessarily remain of blood cells, and he adds that they could be some pieces of reddish minerals.

Finally, although the reading passage says that some Collagens are found in dinosaur leg bone, the speaker disagrees by mentioning that Collagens only can live 1000 years old; hence, it cannot remain for 70-million-years. These Collagens may remain from another source like human skin. When researchers want to carry these fossils, some Collagens may remain on them.
