The reading discusses that the vessel is discovered, unlikely to produce electricity when filled with liquids in 2200 yeard old. The author listed three factors to support this issue. However, the lecture described the reasons unconvincing and presented some evidence to refutes all the reasons that are mentioned by the author.
First, the reading passage proposes that because it does not attach to the electrical conductors, it could not produce electricity. On the other hand, the speaker asserts that the vessels are discovered by local people, not archeologists. Thus, this might be found uninteresting beyond the other materials that are thrown away, so she dismissed this reason.
Furthermore, the author points out that the copper cylinder inside it is similar to the copper cylinder which is found in the ruins. On the contrary, the speaker declares it is possible that it originates from that but it shows, the copper cylinder is adopted for other purposes by the time. This idea, consequently, is rebutted by the lecturer.
Last but not least, the author mentioned that there were no devices at that time to need electricity and it was useless. In contrast, the speaker casts doubt on this issue by standing that it could be used for healing, indeed to stimulate the muscles. Due to the fact that the doctors had the battery for the same purpose.
