The reading and the writing both are about the human existence at the Venus planet and the author provides three reasons, why it is difficult for humans to survive at the Venus planet. The lecturer challenges the reasons made by the author. He is of the opinion that it is possible for the humans to live here.
First of all, the author suggests that atmospheric pressure at the venous plant is a very high as compared to the earth. the article notes that in this high atmospheric pressure, everything has crushed, even the aircraft which were sent over there, were finished. So, humans could not be survived in such atmosphere. On the other hand, the lecturer argues that if station would have built high in the atmosphere instead of the surface, after that, the atmosphere pressure will be equal to earth's atmospheric pressure and he also provides the example of balloon to illustrate the statement.
Secondly, the passage contends that there is hardly any traces of oxygen and water, so, living without oxygen and water is not possible for people. The speaker, however, refutes the statement by asserting that there is compounds of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other gases. In that way, it is quite possible to make water and oxygen from those compounds. He elaborates on this that no need to import any chemicals as mentioned in the article that importing water at such place is impractical.
In the last, it is stated that very little sunlight reflects there and in the absence of sunlight it is tough to make electricity from solar plant and no equipment and machines have no life on the planet without electricity. Nonetheless, the speaker posits that clouds are fifty kilometers high is not very thick and solar plant could work because clouds reflects the sunlight and that energy can be used to generate electricity. Therefore, venous plant can become a human station.
