One final point, if patients' information recorded in electronic databases researchers will still have difficulty to access information due to the strict privacy law in THe United States; moreover, researchers should follow many procedures and permissions even from patients. For example, some patients block the use od their medical records for any purposes other than medical treatments. Medical databases' accessibility is not easy.
