TPO-49 - Integrated Writing Task

In the reading passage, the author argues that humpback whales migrate long distances by stars because of their high intelligence, straight lines routines, and spy-hopping ability. However, the following listening material entirely challenged the statement made by the writer.

As opposed to the reading's idea that humpback whales are highly intelligent to use stars to navigate, the professor indicates that there is no real connection between high intelligence and navigating by stars. In detail, the professor advances the theory by saying that there are other animals using stars to navigate who are not clever, like ducks.

The professor continues to discredit the writing's assertion that humpback whales migrate in straight lines to maintain direction, by examining the fact that they also use external objects. To be more specific, they can use magnitude things to help them stay on track during navigate.

Finally, the passage infers that humpback whales use spy-shopping to look at stars as they migrate, whereas the lecture rebuts this theory by notifying that other animals also exhibit spy-hopping. Specifically, sharks use spy-hopping just for hunting instead of navigating or looking stars.

In the reading, the article introduces methods used by humpback whales to navigate. However, in the listening, the professor gives out three reasons why these beliefs can't stand.
