TPO 50

Based on the set of material, the article discuss three main problems that prevent human going to Mars, on the other hand, the lecture casts doubt that information that is presented in the reading passage and believes that the presented reasons are not convincing enough.

Frist of all, the author contends that enough supplies is a big problem for a long journey for space travel. The space vehicles have limited capacity for these essential supplies. However, the lecturer claims that we could use the hydroponic technology to grow crops in the water to save the space. Plus, the plants will absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. What's more the plants can be raised in the recycled water, then released water vapor is clean enough to drink for astronauts. Thus, the first point in the passage does not hold the water.

In addition, the reading demonstrates that astronauts will face severe problems due to zero-gravity environment. Yet again the speaker in the lecture opposes this opinion and posits that there are several method to prevent these negative effect due to zero-gravity environment. Like astronauts will do regular exercise and take vitamin C or calcium pills to slow down the bone problems. Therefore, the second points does make any sense.

Despite the statement in the reading passage that it is hard to protect astronauts from space radiation, professor reputes that solar radiation is not in dangerous level all the times, we can bring a special instrument to monitor solar radiation in the space. When dangerous solar radiation comes, astronauts will go into the shatter space to get protection. Hence, the third point in the passage is untenable from professor's explanation.
