In this set of materials, the reading passage mainly discusses about a scientists plan for sending humans to Mars in the future which has some challenging problems about storing humans essential needs,Difficuties can be appearanced for people in the zero-gravity and The Suns radiation which is really harmful for humans, While in the listening passage the professor casts doubt on what is presented in the text. First of all, in the reading passage, it is clearly stated that travel to Mars can take two years that is so long and storing food, water, and oxygen for astronauts is more thanthe ships capacity. However, the professor believes this is not convincing. She claims that there is special method which can be used for space travelling, in this way astronauts use water instead of soil for cultivation that is really useful for them because it needs smaller space than ordinary way ,it is appropriate about water recycling, and it can release oxygen that is necessary for astronauts breathing. In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that being for a long time in space with zero-gravity can harm astronauts muscles and bones. She points out that they can maintain their muscles mass and bones density or at least slow down this process with some particular exercises and eating mineral supplements. Finally, although in the text it is mentioned that spaces radiation could be very dangerous for astronauts and protecting all the ship from radiation could be impossible because it increases the ships weigh so much, the professor subscribes to the view that scientists could build a small shelter for special times that they have radiation attacks because this case is occasionally and they are not faced with it all the time.
