In this set of materials, both the reading passage and the lecturer discuss some elephants as a fascinating animal for human. The reading passage states three common beliefs about the elephants; However the professor refutes all of them, citing that these beliefs are the results of the misundestanding of elephants' behaviour.

Firstly, the article contends that elephants are consicous of death beacause when they get old, they would leave their herd and go off near the rivers untill they die. On the other hand, the lecturer articulates that the elephants' break away has practical reason. When the elephants get old they lose their teeth; thus, the chewing is hard for them, and as a result they leave their herd to find softer vegetation to eat. These vegetation are commonly grow near the river; thus, the go near the river and stay there until they die.

In addition, the essay alleges that the elephants have the artisitic ability, and even some of them have some drawings of flowers or other elephants. Nevertheless, the lecturer avers that the elephans do not have any artistic abilities, and it is a kind of trick. In other words, elephants are very sensitive to their ears, and they have some instructors who touch their ears and they brush a stroke on the paper. However, they do not know the painting is illustrating a flower or animal.

Eventually, the text asserts that the elephants fear the mices and some scientists' research are proving this hypothesis. On the contrary, the lecturer declares that they are not afraid of mice, and their reaction to the mice is due to the fact that they are unfamiliar with the mice; However, the elephants which are in the zoos and have familiarity with the mice would not fear the elephants.
