The article states that several measures have been proposed to stop the spread of the cane toad in Australia. And provide three methods that are proposed. However professor refuses all of them.
First, the reading stats that one way to prevent the spread of the toad would be to build a national fence. Professor challenges this method by saying this methods is only will useful for young cane toad and other adult cane toad can carry to other area with water way so this would not be cost effective.
Second, the article says that the toad can be captured and destroyed by volunteers. However, professor opposes this method by stating this method destroys many frog species of Australia and also some species of frogs are dangers and they can be harmful for volunteers.
Third, the reading stats that researcher are developing a diseases causing virus to control the cane toed populations, however professor opposes with this method by saying this is a bad idea and this cause harmful consequences in ecosystem and this will be ineffective and this virus can spread by pet shopper to America and cause this disease in American cane toad and other species and this would be a disaster to environment
