In this set of material, both of the reading and the lecture discuss on reduction of birds in United States. The readings introduces and support three reasons that contribute with this decline, however the professor finds all ides suspicious. The information the lecture expresses contradicts the fact outlined in the reading passage.

First of all, the text declares that human populations and broadening their settlements will cause birds' natural habitats to lessen. Since population grow faster, spontaneously people for finding more places will use forest, wetland and grassland and so on, in contrast the lecture claims that urban grow can be harmful for some birds, on the other hand it can be benefit for other birds like pigeon. Increasing of human's habitats will rise up the places where are appropriate for some birds.

Moreover, the article believes that as population grows, the need to agriculture also will boost, consequently wilderness areas will ruin. This matter can seriously affect on birds' population, in contrast the professor contends that it is definitely is true, however not in the way which the text proposes. Nowadays farmers try to cultivate on fewer lands. Instead of they prefer to use the variety of crops which do not need to wetland or the huge size of lands.

The final point; presented in the reading mentions that growing agriculture and subsequently increasing the pesticides can be other disadvantages from grow population and their need to food. These pesticides are poisons and infect crops and water that birds use them; conversely the lecture refutes this opinion and argues that the pesticides were peril in the past. Today's new and much less toxic pesticides have been developed. Also the new resistance crops which do not attract the pesticide are another achievement in this ground.
