The reading text and lecture are both about the ownership of the Amtrak train. While, the author feels that, government should sell this train service to the private owner. At the same time, lecturer disputes all this claims made by the author and posits that, main motive of this service is to provide efficient way of transportation.
First of all, according to the author government is losses tons of money in this service each year. Article also mentions that, amtrak train service is operated in the less populated area. However, the lecturer believe that, main purpose of this train service is to provide transportation service to the remote area. in addition to that, government does not want a single dollar of profit from it.
Secondly, reading text suggests that, owning a train service by the government body is an unfair with other private transporter and airline service. Because, people prefer train over the other transportation mode because, it is cheap. In contrast to that, professor point out that, governments also give financial support to the airline company. Supports like, paying bill of air traffic control building, give training to the plane pilot. pau out the rent of weather satalite. He goes on to say that, without the supports of government this company does not run smoothly.
Lastly, author of this article claim that, train service in the USA is unpopular. He also notes down that, majority of the people drive by their car instead of using this public transports. on the other hand, tutor argues that, train service in the America is very old and slow . On top of that, he said that, government should spend more money on the getting the modern train like a Japanese and European authority. Because, these trains are relatively more fast than older one.
