In the future, students may have the choice of studying at home by using technology such as computers or television or of studying at traditional schools. Which would you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Generally, two ways to study and participate in school or university classes are: using new technologies, such as computers and internet, and going to traditional classes, the professor and the blackboard. In my view, I prefer to study using technology and take my courses online rather than go to traditional school classes for two reasons. In what follows, I will discuss my viewpoint and delineate my reasons.
First, by taking online courses, I can attend my classes at any time and at any situation. For example, I can take part in my class when I am lying on my bed, wearing a pajama and drinking coffee. This is great and I enjoy studying like this. Another advantage of taking online courses is that I can attend my classes when I vacationing or on a business trip. In this way, I will not miss any of my classes. What’s more, imagine if I miss a class or I did not understand a part of lessons or the professor lectures, online courses and new technologies allow me to review the lessons and the lectures any number of times. Therefore, I can easily listen to the lectures until I fully understand the lessons.
Secondly, studying at home using my computer dispense me the trouble of traveling a long distance, most of the time in a heavy traffic, to go to traditional classes at university or school. As a result, I not only save so much time and energy, but also feel safe, because accidents may happen when I am heading to school or university or I may get a cold due to cold weather. Besides, sometimes the school classes are early in the morning, so in order to get the school on time; I need to wake up earlier. Therefore, I cannot have sufficient sleep and I will feel sleepy and exhausted in the class. This reduces my activity and efficiency in the class. On the other hand, using new technologies and online courses, I am able to attend my classes and study effective and efficient.
To sum up, although some may argue that the traditional school classes are superior and more useful because the students get a chance to speak with each other and the professor directly and hear new ideas or ask them questions about the lessons; I prefer online classes and new methods of studying. Studying at home using technologies is not only easily applicable and available today but also is more effective than school traditional classes for the previously mentioned reasons.
