The table provides information regarding sources of land degradation in North America, Europe and Oceania, specifically during the 1990s. In North America, total land degraded was 5percent, of which 3.3percent was due to over-cultivation. In Europe, total area affected was 23percent, of this 9.8percent was due to deforestation.
