The chart below shows the number of people who had recently contacted with family or friends.
The chart shows generally women had more contacts with family or friends than men. For both gender, it seemed that the communication reached its peak in the 55-to-64-year-old group.
For women, the contact started to decrease from 96% for the 18-to-34-year-old group (similar to men), to 95% for the 35-44 age group. However, unlike the opposite gender, it rose steadily to reach its peak at the 55-64 age group with 97% before it dropped approximately to 95% for the 75 or above group.
For men, the communication fell moderately from 96% for the 18-to-34-year-old group to 94% for the 45-54 age group before it hit its highest point at 96% for the 55-64 age group (similar to women, although lower with a difference of about 1%). It then dropped to its lowest point of 93% for the 65-to-74-year old group. Subsequently, the contact increased slightly to 93.5% for the 75 or above group.
To sum up, women kept in touch more often than men and both communicated the most at the age group of 55-64.
