The line graph illustrates the amount of car thefts, measured per 1000 vehicles from 1990 to 1999 over four countries in Europe. Overall, it can be seen that Great Britain had the highest theft rate, with increasing trend for Sweden throughout the period.
Starting from approximately 18 per thousand in 1990, Great Britain showed some fluctuation over the years, which ended at almost the same rate as it started. It had far higher car thefts compared to the other three countries throughout the years.
Sweden, France and Canada stood closely to each other at 7, 8 and 9 per thousand respectively in 1990. However, Sweden saw a significant increase over the 10-year period, to reach its highest at 12 thousands in 1999, after Great Britain. In contrast, France and Canada had a similar pattern of thefts, which finally both ended up with the same rate of about 5 per thousand in 1999.
