A glance at the given column chart reveals the amount of time which British spent on telephone in various categories over the course of 7 years starting in 1995.
Overall, the time using of telephone call tended to rise in this period. In addition, local-fixed line was the most used facility in all the time surveyed.
It can be seen from the chart that ,in 1995 the figure of local fixed-line was significantly higher than that of other types, standing at well over 70 billions. In stark contrast, the figure for mobile was merely around 3 billions, while national and international fixed-line stood at roughly 38 billions. In the year 1996, local fixed line grew rapidly before it reached a peak of 90 billion minutes. Likewise, in the same period, the UK witnessed markedly climbs in national and international fixed-line and mobiles. Specifically, the figure for the former was 50 billions, while the latter saw a threefold increase.
In terms of local-fixed line, after reaching its peak, it declined gradually before finishing at the bottom out at approximately 72 billion minutes. This was still significantly higher in comparison with national and international fixed-line and mobiles which reached at the highest point in 2002. To be precise, the figures for these were roughly 61 and 46 billion minutes.
