The chart gives information about sports played by young people by gender in Great Britain
The chart gives information about sports played by young people by gender in Great Britain. It can be seen that there are several different kinds of sports that teenagers there take part in.
As the chart shows, girls’ participation in swimming and cycling accounts for the highest percentage, as 53% and 50% of total girls attend in respectively. The other sports which acquire more physical health are less attractive, with less than 30% of female teenagers choosing each. Among them, the percentage of girls playing football is the lowest, as only 15% of them participate in this sport.
In contrast, there are much more boys selecting football, as the football percentage is the highest, about 67%. Cycling is the second popular sport among boys, with nearly 60% of them take part in it and the third popular one is swimming, as the figure is about 57%. Similar to girls’ figures, tennis, walking, hiking and blading/boarding attract them the least since less than 30% of the boys asked choosing each.
It is clearly to notice that except for football in which boys are more interested in than girls, there are hardly any considerate differences in figures by both genders.
