Knowing about the past cannot help people to make important decisions today

Essay topics:

Knowing about the past cannot help people to make important decisions today

The discussion of the issue among individuals and in society as a whole has come into vogue during the last decade. In my point of view, I disagree with the speaker for some obvious reasoons. There are many instances supporting my view.

Experience is the sum of knowledge about the problems and solutions faced by every people or organization in a specific situation. It is obviously wise to use the same solution to the same problem if it proved successful . However ,it is quite unwise to look for another solution for a specific problem while you have the solution for it at hand. Why do you need to discover America again and again? For example , you have a problem about finding the best way to reduce car emittion in a country and you succeed this through increasing gas prices. As this solution is an efficent way , ignoring the past experienced , to try to find another way to the same problem is inane and invain. Furthermore, it is highly possible to come the same conclusion .

Knowing about the past also prevents you from making the same mistakes maden in the past. For instance, you see someone climbing down a cliff and dying but you insist on going to climb from this cliff because you don’t learn from previous people`s mistakes. When you think of that situation you must say that it is dangerous to climb from that cliff because people before me died. It is silly to ignore the mistakes maden and make the same mistakes again.

You don’t have to use all the date of the past completely. You can evaluate and make use of it according to current situations. Consider the previous example of climbing from a cliff. Maybe this cliff is not that stiff anymore or there is no cliff at all. However , you don’t lose anything but gain much considering the past conditions and acclimating them to current situations.

In sum there is no gain but harm in ignoring the past. It is wise to use past experiences (mistakes or successes) to find a solution to a problem or not to make the same mistakes done previously.
