Three diagrams illustrate the developing of Brightsea at the coastal area from a fishing village in 1950 to a ferry terminal by future planning with better facilities for societies around there.

In the past, 1950, the beach zone was unbuilt with only some building such as lighthouse and lighthouse keeper’s house. There was also some fisherman’s cottages near a small jetty which used for fishing boats.

Today, that place already developed with many new building around the coastal area. It can be seen there is a road which make the societies easier to do their daily life. There is also a hotel beside the lighthouse. A larger wharf than before is also supporting a ferry facility. The society there is also easier to do their activities because of the shop and cafe building near the road.

The future planning for Brightsea area will give better life for communities there.the hotel will be extended and beside the hotel will be build a sailing club at the south side. Moreover, at the ferry wharf, there will be added with a telecommunications antenna and the supermarket and car park will change the shop building. A restaurant and apartments will also build to replace cafe at the northern side of Brightsea.

I can conclude that the developing in the Brightsea coastal has changed the society life from 1950 and becomes a better ferry terminal. In the future, there will be more developing while the lighthouse will have been the only building that never changed.
