The first bar graph illustrates how the number of marriages and divorces changed between 1970 and 2000, and the second graph shows that the martial status of adult Americans in1970 and 2000.
According to the first graph, the number of marriages was more than twice than the number od divorces in 1970 and 2000. The number of marriages and divorces were 2.5million and 1million in 1970 and the same figures were 2million and 1million in 2000. Also the number of marrages was almost the same as the number of divorces in 1980 respectly.
When it comes to the second one, the percentage of married people was highest both in 1970 and in 2000. The figure was 70% in 1970 and 60% in 2000. The percentage of never married was approximately 18% in 1970 and 20% in 2000. It is interesting to note that the number of widowed people and divorced people was lower than 10% in 1970 and 2000.
