The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map compares two potential locations for a new supermarket in a town of Garlsdon.
It is clear from the map that the first site (S1) is outside the town, whereas the second site (S2) is in the town center.
According to the map, S1 is in the countryside, which lies 12 kilometers to the northwest of the town. This site is close to local residents of Garlsdon and Hindon. Meanwhile, S2 is surrounded by the industrial area and the housing zone.
In addition, there are three roads which connect to the surrounding town, Hindon, Bransdon and Cransdon. However, the central area is a no traffic area, so parking would be a problem in S2. By contrast, S1 lies on the main road to Hindon, but it would be difficult to reach Bransdon and Cransdon. Main transport system for both supermarket sites is railway which links between Hindon and Cransdon.
