The graph below shows the unemployment rates in the US and Japan between March 1993and March 1999.
The presented line chart illustrates how the proportion of people who not have job changes during 6 years in 2 countries, namely Japan and US.
It can be seen clearly that the unemployment rates in the US increased dramatically, whereas one in Japan had a remarkable reduction.
In March 1993, the percentage of unemployment in Japan started at 2.5 %, less than 4.5% that of in US. In the period from 1993 to 1995, the Japan’s unemployment rates climbed slightly and stood at above 35 out of 100 in 1995; on the other hand, US experienced a significant drop to 5.5 % at the same time. After that, the propotion of people who have no job in Japan shooted up approximately 4.5% while that of in the US fluctuated and stayed at nearly 5% in March 1996.
In the following years, unemployment rates in Japan had fluctuation and reached at peak in March 1998, at above 5 percent, then uping and downing around 5 %. This figure was the propotion of people who underwork in the US in March 1999.
