Both the article and the lecture are about Buzzers who are paid by some companies to advertise companies' products to their friends or others that buzzers know them. The reading provides three reasons that Buzzers can have destructive consequence in the community; however, the lecture casts doubt on the claims made in the reading. A buzzer speaks in the audio and he finds all arguments unconvincing.
First of all, the author of reading declares that people should know buzzers because they expect their friends to be honest with them. Instead of gaining correct data about a product, people may receive incorrect information. This point is challenged by the lecturer. He points out that the companies usually find a person who has used the companies' goods. If a product could make a person satisfied; therefore, this man is willing to contribute with company as a buzzer. It goes without saying that a buzzer provides his personal experiences with the product.
Secondly, the reading passage contends that people usually accept their friends' advice easily and faster than other sources like TV, radio and you name it; hence, this event can harm them. Since in confronting TV's ads, they have ability to discern wrong information; subsequently, TV does not provide danger for them as much as their friends can. This argument is rebutted by the buzzer. The lecturer states that people ask a huge number of questions about a products such as price, quality and service and so on; as a result, if buzzers do not answer them in a logical way, they will not want to buy that good.
Finally, the article believes that this approach can increase dishonesty among friends; conversely the buzzer refutes this suggestion and expresses that if a product is really in a low quality, the companies would not find the buzzers. When one who has experienced acceptable quality from a product, shares their experiences with his friends, this can boost trust feeling in society.
