The charts given compares the popularity of eight recreational activities in the US between 1999 and 2009.
It can be clearly seen that in both two years, the proportion of walking makes up most of the charts. In addition, there were significant changes in the figures of yoga, jogging and aerobics over the period.
From 1999 to 2009, the figures of soccer and camping slightly increased by 1%, from 17% and 8% to 18% and 9%. Meanwhile, yoga and swimming, which constitute only 5% and 9% in 1999, became increasingly more popular with doubles in the number of people who participated in these activities.
As it can be seen, during the ten-year period, walking, which constitutes 29% and 31%, was the most common activity among Americans. By contrast, the rates of jogging (7%), aerobics (13%) and bicycling (12%) which were considered to be relatively low in 1999, experienced dramatic falls by nearly half respectively during ten years
