The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given data illustrates the information about telephone calls in the UK over 7 years period from 1995 to 2002. While mobile and national and international calls had been increased during the period, the calls via local fixed line had been swelled up which is then followed by decline to the same number of minutes in 2002 as it was in 1995.
In 1995, calls via mobile phones were taking a rather negligible share of the telephone calls. Mobile phone calls were roughly 2 billions minutes in 1995. This number had been gradually climbed to just a shy of 10 billions in 1998 and following this increase, the total number of mobile phone calls had significantly increased to 45 billions of minutes in year of 2002. Similarly, we can see a steady climb in the amount of calls via national and international line. It had started at approximately 38 billions of minutes in 1995 and steadily swelled up to 62 billions of minutes in 2002. However, calls in local lines differs in figures. In 1995, it had started at 70 billions, which is followed by the number that peaked at 90 billions in 1999. After the reaching to highest point, the calls via local lines had decreased to 70 billions in 2002 as it was the same level in 1995.
