The pie charts demonstrate how water is used in three sectors namely industrial, agricultural and domestic in six regions of the world.
As can be seen from the charts, agricultural industry consumes most of water in most regions, such as in South America, Africa and Asia. In Africa and Asia, agricultural use even accounts for 81% and 88%, respectively. In addition, agriculture in North America and Europe consumes around one third of the total water consumption in these regions.
It is crystal clear that, on the contrary, the percentages of industrial use in North America and Europe are higher than other regions around 48% and 53%, respectively. In fact, industry is the major water consumption sectors in the areas. Furthermore, water consumption in North and South America shows a contrasting scenario.
Last, in those regions, the percentages of domestic use are only from 7% to 19%, the relatively lower figures comparing to that of other sector.
