You are studying for a qualification, and you would like some time off work to complete it.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
Ask for some time off to complete a qualification.
Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off.
Say how the qualification helps your job or company.
Dear Fonseca,
I’m writing to request some time off from work for the post graduation I have enrolled for recently.
As discussed in our last one-to-one meeting, I have developed an interest for Project Management after the SAP project we had completed in May 2016, in which I was the single point of contact from Emerging Markets. This has motivated me to enroll for a two-year course in Project Management. Learning the advantage of the topics covered in the course, I was delighted to know that this would not only add value to my job but also will be highly contributing to the company’s upcoming projects, especially on cost-cutting.
In this regard, I would like to request you some time off the initial stage wherein I would need to submit a project on my experience and findings in any assignment I have taken up at the present workplace. Though I’m well-versed with the topic, however, this would need ample time to prepare the detail report with presentations.
If granted permission, I would ensure that I catchup up with all topics and meetings I have missed in my absence. I shall schedule a session with Ms. Arcas to update me on Rolling Forecast and Sales Targets as soon as I report back to the office.
Hope you would be able to consider my request and grant me the time of work. Please let me know if you need any further details from me. Anticipating a positive response at your earliest.
Yours Sincerely,
Sara Tomasz.
