Dear Mr David Oben,
I am writing to let you know why I missed the meeting held this morning concerning the new project on renewable energy. There was heavy traffic for over three hours on my way to work and I am sorry for not attending the meeting.
Let me explain in details what happened this morning in Mango Bridge. As a normal routine of leaving my home for work at 6:30am to start working 7:30am but, unfortunately, for me today there was heavy traffic on Mango Bridge. I later learned that ahead of us two heavy duty cargo trucks were involved in a fatal accident resulting to road blockage for hours as paramedics have to attend to the wounded and the trucks have to be cleared off the road. This was completely beyond my control but I am still very sorry.
Even though, I was greatly shaken, I have borrowed the presentation slides from Mr Jones to see what was discussed. Also, we have planned a discussion meeting after work to deliberate on the details and also recommendations given during the meeting. Finally, I intend to book a private meeting with you to explain what I know so far and to highlight my recommendations.
Thanks very much for your understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Oben Martin
