Secondly, the article claims that rooting wood is a proper place for insects which can damage the forest. The lecturer, on the other hand, refutes this claims and points out that even though the dead tree increase the insect and provide a habitat for insects, but insects are not bad for the forests because insects live in the forest more than 100 years and do not damage the forests. In addition, the decaying wood is a place for birds which contribute to the forest in a long term and are important for the forests.
Finally, according to the reading passage, author says that not only has salvage logging economic advantages, but also provide an opportunity to create jobs for local people. The speaker, however, denies the points of author and asserts that the economic benefits of salvage logging is very small an would not last for a long time. Additionally, the salvage logging do only by helicopter which costs a great deal of money and is very expensive. In terms of creating job for local residents, Moreover, the professor says that the jobs which are being created by salvage logging is temporary, and the people who can carry out logging is outsider and experienced people other that local people.
